The National FFA Organization (also known as Future Farmers of America) envisions a future in which all agricultural education students will discover their passion in life and build on that insight to chart the course for their educations, career and personal future.

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Agricultural Education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems.

Two of our outstanding Freshmen FFA members competed in the "FFA Creed Speaking Contest" with students from the other eight schools in area 10. Two participants are selected from each area to compete at the state contest. Both of the area 10 winners this year are Canyon View FFA's Braeley B. and Kaylee H. These girls will now compete for a state title and opportunity to compete at the national convention next fall.

2015 National FFA Results

Our two State Champion FFA teams that competed at the National FFA competitions in Louisville, KY, this past week did Canyon View proud. Our Agricultural Communications team of Ashley Hopkins, Nicole Hopkins, & Taryn Roundy was ranked as one of the Gold Medal teams finishing 4th overall. Nicole was recognized for first place in the "Electronic Media" portion of the contest and was also ranked as the 8th high individual. Taryn finished NUMBER ONE overall...the best in the nation!

Our national finalist team in "Marketing Plan," Madison Bauer, Cierra Reid, & Morgan Stubbs, finished fifth overall.

2015 FFA State Winners from CVHS

Results of our State FFA CTE Judging Contests:

Canyon View won the Agricultural Communications Contest for the second straight year, with Nicole Hopkins receiving the gold medal as the high individual in the event & Taryn Roundy was the silver medalist. Ashley Hopkins is the third member of this team.

Because FFA rules do not allow previous state winners to compete in that contest again, last years State Champions and National Finalists in Ag Communications; Cierra Reid, Morgan Stubbs, and Madi Bauer chose to compete in the Marketing Plan contest this year...and they also are now State Champions again in the Marketing Plan contest!!

Although our Agricultural Sales team fell just short of the mark, team member Weston Adams was the high individual and gold medalist in this event...achieving a perfect score in the salesmanship portion of the contest!
