Scholarships Listings

The Utah Association of Independent Insurance Agents (UAIIA) is offering a minimum of three scholarships ranging from $500 to $2000 in 2017 to Utah high school seniors who have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA and are active in extra-curricular activities through their school, church, community or work.  In 2016 UAIIA awarded sixteen scholarships. 

Financial need by applicants may also be considered.  If desired, the student may return the financial information form along with the application.  If this form is used, any information disclosed will be kept confidential.

A transcript of the student’s grades must be received by the deadline given below.  If it is school policy to mail transcripts separately, it is the applicant’s responsibility to see that these transcripts are received at the UAIIA office.  Applications without transcripts of grades will not be considered.  In addition, a recent photo should be included with the application.  This photo will not be returned to the applicant.  It may be used for news releases or for publicity articles should your student receive a scholarship.

National Dairy Shrine Scholarships - 3,000 - 42 Awards (Deadline: April 15, 2017)
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
1. U.S students attending schools, colleges, or universities in the United States and majoring in dairy industry or other agricltural related fields.

Paradigm Challenge Scholarships - $100,000 - 10 Awards (Deadline: May 1, 2017)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
1. be aged 4 to 18 years old on May 1, 2017
2. have their parents'/legal guardinas/ permission to participate
3. NOT be residents of Cuba, Iroan, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, the Crimea Region, or any other United States sanctioned country.

Review It Scholarship - $1,000 - 1 Award (Deadline: June 30, 2017)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

Louie Family Foundation Scholarships - $4,000 - 25 Awards (Deadline: March 31, 2017)
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
1. Be a freshman in the 2017-18 academic year and anticipate enrolling at a U.S. accredited college/university in the 2017-18 academic year.
2. Have a cumulative, un-weighted GPA between 3.5 and 4.0.

Intel ISEF - $3,000 - 600 Awards (Deadline: April 1, 2017)
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
1. Be in grades 9-12 or equivalent and compete in an Intel ISEF affiliated science fair and WIN the right to attend the Intel ISEF.

The application for the Utah Scholars Recognition certificate and medallion is open. Interested senior students should fill out the form online. This is open to any student who meets the requirements. Students can sign up at any time before the deadline. The college readiness activities can also be completed at any time. The grade-by-grade checklists are a suggested timeline that students can follow but, they will not be penalized if they complete an activity at a different time.

Mountain America Credit Union awards $2,000 each to three winners of the Mountain America Scholarship, which is available for Mountain America Credit Union members or their families. One $2,000 scholarship is awarded in each of the following categories: Community Service and Social Service, General and Other Academic Majors, and Business and Communications Majors.

Instructions and applications are available through the link below. Applications must be completed by the student and mailed to Mountain America, postmarked by April 21, 2017.

Mountain America Scholarship winners will be announced on the company website by June 9, 2017. Presentation of the awards will be held in June.

The Utah Public Employees’ Association (UPEA) Mountain America Scholarship, which awards $1,000 each to three winners. This scholarship is available for those who are Mountain America and UPEA members or their dependents who live in Utah.

You can download the UPEA Scholarship application by clicking on the link below or via the UPEA website at www.upea.net. Applications must be completed and submitted to UPEA by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.  Scholarships will be awarded on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the UPEA General Council at the Salt Lake City Marriott University Park Hotel.

Rotary Scholarships to SUU. Four scholarships will be granted to students in the Iron County School District and are worth $1,000 each, split over any two semesters over a 3-year period. Scholarships are for students who are (1) dedicated with limited financial resources, (2) deeply committed to service, (3) have a demonstrated work ethic, (4) share the mission and vision of Rotary Internations, and (5) can succeed in university studies if given a chance. A missionary deferment is available.
Applications are available in the counseling office and are due April 10, 2017.


Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its third annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. They will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:

+ A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
+ A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare 

This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Utah Jump$tart Coalition Financial Literacy Scholarship Contest. Designed to recognize graduating seniors who can demonstrate a solid understanding of financial literacy concepts and are pursuing a post-secondary education. South Central Communications. Our annual scholarship program is open to all graduating high school seniors with a parent or guardian who has local telecommunication service from South Central Communications. UIAAA and NIAAA Scholarship.   • School athletic administrator/director must be an NIAAA member and a member of their respective state athletic administrators association

  • All materials must be postmarked to UIAAA/NIAAA scholarship program  199 East 7200 South, Midvale, Utah 84047.  (no later than January 31, 2017

    The Award
    Scholarships are awarded annually and must be used at one of the 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities. Each award provides full tuition, as well as room and board, for the term of the scholarship. The scholarship may be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and normal progress toward the bachelor's degree.

    General Eligibility
    To be eligible for the USDA/1890 National Scholars Program scholarship a student must:

    • Be a U.S. citizen
    • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
    • Have been accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities.
    • Study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines
    • Demonstrate leadership and community service
    • Submit an official transcript with the school seal and an authorized official's signature

    SUSAN W. CODA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP  

    The applicant shall:
    a.    be a resident of Utah at the time of application
    b.    have attended a high school or college in Utah
    c.     provide proof of acceptance to a four-year college or university located outside of the state of Utah by April 1, 2017.
    d.    have a 3.8 or higher GPA (cumulative grade point average), including high school and college courses (if applicable) and high SAT/ACT scores
    e.    demonstrate leadership abilities
    f.      participate in extracurricular school activities
    g.    be involved in community affairs
    Applications for the 2017-2018 university academic year must be completed and postmarked no later than March 1, 2017 to be considered.
    Financial need is not a requirement for this scholarship.
    All applicants shall be reviewed by the Susan W. Coda Memorial Scholarship Fund Committee (appointed by the P.E.O. Utah State Chapter executive board).
    The application of the most highly qualified woman shall be sent to the trustees of the P.E.O. Foundation for final approval.

    The ACLU of Utah is pleased to announce our 2017 Youth Activist Scholarship program. This is the tenth year that the ACLU of Utah will award scholarships to eligible college bound high school seniors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to civil liberties through some form of activism. Two winners will receive $1,500 applied toward their college tuition. They will also be featured in a short professional video as well as honored at our annual Bill of Rights Celebration. 


    Please pass this information to college-bound seniors who might be interested.  If your school has a scholarship website, please include the scholarship on your site.

    Past ACLU of Utah scholarship winners came from many parts of Utah including Brigham City, Herriman, Kearns, Logan, Moab, Nephi, Ogden, Orem, Provo, Salt Lake City, St. George and Taylorsville. Their civil liberties work includes programs and activities that advocate for racial diversity, rights of disabled students, equality for all, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression.

    To qualify for the scholarship, the student must:
    • Have demonstrated a strong commitment to civil liberties through some form of activism,
    • Be a high school senior planning on entering an accredited college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking student,
    • Have attained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If the GPA is less than 3.0, the student is still eligible, but must submit an explanation for the lower GPA.

    Vivint Smart Home is very excited to be offering a $5,000 scholarship to Iron County School District. The details of the scholarship can be found at www.vivint.com/scholarship. Eligibility Requirements:

    • Student must be a high school senior or college student, and a legal resident of the United States
    • Student must be enrolled in school no later than September 30, 2017
    • Winner is not based on financial need

    The Lynn Jensen Memorial Scholarship has been established to provide a maximum of four $1000 scholarships for high school seniors who plan to attend college. 

    • Scholarship monies will be given directly to the student.

    Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.     Seniors who are pursuing a degree in an agriculture or natural resource science field have a new scholarship offer. The Utah Association of Conservation Districts is offering a $750 scholarship.  Come into the counseling center for the application.



    If you are a student who has been accepted to SUU, there is another scholarship available for you. The Cedar City Rotary Club scholarship application is now in the counseling center. One of the requirements is 50 community service hours. If you feel you meet this requirement, come see Robin Birmingham in the counseling center for an application.

    The Utah Valley University Ambassador Program and UVU’s Center for the Advancement of Leadership is currently accepting applications for the Wolverine Ambassador LEAD Housing Scholarship. This scholarship consists of a 2/3rds housing supplement at Ventana Student Housing located across the street from UVU campus. The Wolverine Ambassador LEAD Program is a two-year program designed to shape students into becoming more effective leaders in whatever professional field they’ve chosen to pursue.     CTE Scholarships and Tuition Awards are for outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) students. The awards cover up to one year of tuition. Eligible applicants have a 1:2 odds of receiving an award. Would you spend four to five hours compiling a portfolio to receive well over $1,500?     Government and leadership education program in Washington, D.C.
    Are you a junior or senior involved in student government in the office of Student Body President, Vice President Secretary or Treasurer? How about a junior or senior who’s class president, vice president, secretary or treasurer? Are you on student council or a representative?     Sterling Scholar - Opportunities for recipients
