Rotary Club Scholarships
Four scholarships will be granted. Each scholarship is for $1000 split over any two semesters of the recipient’s choosing within a three year period.

We are gifted to have many excellent students at our Iron County high schools. Many will gravitate to other universities. Be we also have students for whom SUU is not only an excellent fit, but also a lifeline and for whom our scholarship makes a huge difference in their ability to pursue their education.  We have been successful in finding these particular students over the years. We also try to encourage students who have a link to Rotary either through Interact or through their parents and grandparents.

Thus, our scholarships are not necessarily given on the basis of the highest GPA or strongest school leadership. Rather, we seek the help of guidance counselors who can identify:

  1. Dedicated students with limited financial resources
  2. Students with a deep commitment to service and a demonstrated work ethic
  3. Students who share the mission and vision of Rotary International
  4. Students who can succeed in university studies if given a chance.

Some suggestions for applicants:

  1. Wise applicants might want to familiarize themselves with Rotary International, its mission and its 4-way test. (www.rotary.org)
  2. Similarly, the essay is important. In the essay it is helpful to explain how the particular strengths of SUU align with the educational objectives of the applicant.
  3. Service matters. Applicants will want to emphasize their personal commitment to community service and demonstrate how that commitment finds expression in their daily lives.

Students who have an employment history might want to reference their job(s) and its importance to them.
Download the Application here.
Applications are due April 20, 2018 and should be submitted to the indicated business address or email.
