Mr. David Jordan

Our bands/orchestra recently competed in the Hollywood Festival in Southern California. The judges scored groups on a scale of 0-100. 90-100 is considered Gold. 80-89 is Silver. 70-79 is Bronze. Then there were other categories for groups that score lower than 70. Our Philharmonic Orchestra got Gold. Our Wind Ensemble got Gold, and our Jazz Band got Silver (89.3 almost gold). There were no other Jazz Bands in the competition, so they did not receive a placement, but our Wind Ensemble placed 2nd and our Orchestra placed 1st!

There was also a Sweepstakes Award which goes to the school with the highest average score of all the groups that participate from that particular school. We won the Sweepstakes Award! We also received a couple of honorary Adjudicator Awards, and our string bass player, Aidan Funai, received a Maestro Award!  Congratulations to all our students!
